Some updates for everyone! First of all, I've put up a lot of the CONVENTION INFORMATION, so go and click on "Anime Express X" to the left and check it out...the (tentative) SCHEDULE is UP!

We're hoping to make this year a big success, so please any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

To any of our members who submitted their name to be volunteers, we'll be letting you know your positions shortly. Please try and attend meetings regularly from now on if you can.

Welcome to the new year, everyone! We've lots to get done, with our 10th anniversary convention coming us!

Please continue to join us on Tuesday nights 7-10pm, now in the new College of Business building!

Also, check out our convention site (link on the side), because there are definitely some awesome new updates there...the biggest being of couse *drumroll* OUR PRICES AND PLANNED CONVENTION SCHEDULE! OhKay...xD Update Time again! I've completely gone through the entire site and updated everything, so please check out the new information for Anime Express X by clicking on the AEX link to the left!

Also, I've updated the Artist's Alley information, and put up the sign-up form as well as posted the times and prices for Artist's Alley!

AND VERY IMPORTANT!! I've put up the 2008 VOLUNTEER form for Anime Express X. Anyone wishing to volunteer, please fill that out and submit it ASAP!

On a side note, I've also add the chalk art pictures from homecoming to the "Pictures" link on the side...I don't know how many of you know this, but we won 3rd place in the chalk art contest!!

For those who haven't heard, AGAnime Club will be participating in the ERAU Homecoming Parade and the theme for Anime Club will be Dragon Ball Z. Role Allocation will next Tuesday, October the 9th!

April 12, 2007 Announcement!!

Alright, everyone...I'm proud to bring you the Anime Express 9.5 Schedule of Events! Sorry about the bad quality of this on this web page, but it was the best I was able to do with html. At any rate, if you want a better copy, than you can download the excel file.

As you can see below we will be having an art contest and there will be a prize for that. Other than that, we will also be holding a raffle for some other misc anime/manga items. More details will be at the registration desk.

Sign ups for all gaming events will aslo be at the registration desk. Thanks all~!

April 5, 2007 Announcement!!

I apologize about the lateness of this announcement, but...

I am now officially announcing that the Anything Goes Anime Club will be hosting a one day anime convention to be held on April 15, 2007. The convention is aptly called...Anime Express 9.5 ! We will be asking for all the support we can have in running this thing smoothly. More specific details, along with a complete schedule will be posted up on *this* page later on.

Here's what we know now:

    Magic/Yugioh tournaments
    HALO tournaments

    Basic Japanese
    Cosplay Craftmanship

Other:
    Game Room
    Possible 1-2 dealers, definitely snacks for sale

Cost:
    $10 per badge

Well, that's what we have so far!! We ask that you please come out and join us at the convention. We are trying to raise funds for next year, and gain back some lost trust. If you could support us in anyway, it would be greatly apprieciated!!

January 27, 2007 Bad news, everyone!! Due to recent events, AEX has to be canceled this year!!

So that there's no confusion as to why this has happened, let me explain. This year the risk manager of Embry-Riddle along with the facilitators of the various accommodations of ERAU, and ERAU Safety have determined that the Anime Express convention is not approved to be held at the Embry-Riddle campus this year.

The reasons that they cited to us have mostly to do with the recent Christmas tornado. Due to the tornado, many of the lighting systems are down around campus, and there are more dangerous construction areas than ever before. Also, because this year there are two other events already scheduled to occur that same weekend, the directors of the needed ERAU facilities find it would be very difficult if not all together impossible to accommodate us this year. Moreover, over the past few years there has been a breakdown in communication between the AGAnime Club, and the key university associates that are essential to running this convention. While this is mostly due to the previous administration, it has hindered our ability to effectively run this convention for the time being. Not to mention also, as was most indefinitely mentioned at the recent meetings with ERAU Safety, the past history of this convention has again, unfortunately worked against us. Several SERIOUS breeches of trust, ERAU policy, and even of the law itself were witnessed and documented by ERAU Safety over the past two years of the convention, and that has unfortunately cast the AGAnime Club in a very bad light in ERAU's eyes.

In summary, due to recent and not so recent events, Anime Express will have to be canceled this year due to lack of accommodations, meaning that ERAU won't let us use the campus, and that we have not the funds nor means to schedule it otherwise.

Instead, this year we will attempt to fund raise, reestablish the AGA's relationships with key people, and plan for next year's convention.

On a side note, it was also mentioned that ERAU disproves of us advertising the convention as a definite future event before they have approved it, and before we have properly reserved the rooms and facilities. THEREFORE, we would like to make it very clear that while we are planning to hold Anime Express 10 NEXT year, but that this is not yet a DEFINITE thing. We believe that by next year, we will have regained our footing and status on this campus enough to hold AEX, but please don't assume this will happen. When it will happen, we will be sure to inform you. Thank you.

Also on a side note, we do plan and hope to host one or two single day events on campus, but again we are not guaranteeing anything. Please keep an eye on this site for further updates.

December 12, 2006 Just a quick update, as the first semester is officially over with, so more updates will come after the break. Expect the dealers room applications soon, as well as volunteer information. Sorry about the delay with that everyone. Also, the Artist's Alley information has changed, as well as the general con information, as it was decided that we're going to start the con a little later on Friday, to allow for additional setup time. If you'd like to do Artist's Alley this year, then please fill out the registration form that can be downloaded from the Artist's Alley page which is also under the "Anime Express X" link, and send the completed form to erauanime@gmail.com.

I've posted on the forums a summary of the things that we recently discussed about the convention in the last few AGA meetings up on the Anime Express Forums, so go and review it if you'd like. It's under "Forum Announcements". (I also posted some of the random things under the "Insanity Forum")

November 19, 2006 Ok, good news everyone!

The Anime Express forums have officially switched over to the new hosting site.

Please go and check them out. Thanks again to Anime House. Hopefully we won't have as many problems with these new forums as with the old ones.

Now, moving on, the AGA officers would like to ask that as many people as possible attend the next two club meetings, because we want to discuss some important issues about the upcoming Anime Express X. Please come if you can. And bring ideas!

November 16, 2006 Alright, great news everyone! The forums are back up!! Yay...

Although, to avoid further problems we're still going to switch our hosting site to the Anime House site. It'll avoid future problems like this.

I expect to transfer all the posts by the end of the year, and the new forums should be just the same as the one we have now. So for now, keep posting to the current forum, and I'll let everyone know when we'll be switching over!

Thanks for all you patience, and we hope you guys have lots of ideas for us...

Also, we want more programming this year, if there's any panels that any of you want to run, please post your suggestion in the panel thread of the programming forum! Thanx

Novemeber 13, 2006 Forum down time: Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know. Recently, there has been a lot of trouble accessing the AE forums. This is actually because the forum hosting site we're using (easyfreeforum.com) had been preforming maintainance to their servers recently. I sent an email to the staff at the hosting site, asking when they will be done preforming the maintainance, but so far I haven't heard a response. When I know that information, I'll post it up here, and in the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience.

Also to let you know, we're looking into changing our hosting site. Anime House has graciously offered their site to host our forums, and we'll hopefully have everything switched over by the end of the year. It will take a while, because we'll have to move over all the posts. I'll let you all know when that forum is up, so please keep checking this site and the current AE forums for news, ok?

Oh and once again, this Tues we'll be meeting in A105 at ERAU, come and join us! Join us~~...

October 24th, 2006 Important News! AGAnime officially has a forum board now for Anime Express! A link has been added to the page so please go and check it out! We're hoping the forum will help us improve the convention, as well as popularize it. So if you have any opinions about last year, or just some general comments/suggestions that you'd like to place, please register for the forums and post away!

Also! On homecoming: I hope you all have your costumes near done, because the parade is this Friday! One last reminder, the parade STARTS at 4pm. Please be there as soon as you can! And have fun!

Lastly, don't forget that next meeting (On Oct 31 xD) is a halloween partay thing xD. It's going to be a mini game/lan thing, so bring anything you want to play, etc. Also, don't forget to bring food!
